Used Cadillac CT4 vs Used Cadillac CT5: which one is best for you?

If you love sedans and are currently looking to buy a used high-end luxury sedan like the ones by Cadillac, then you should really head into your local Cadillac dealership and check out the available inventory on both used Cadillac CT4 and CT5 models in your area.

One local dealership, Cadillac Laval, can advise you on the pricing, features and availability of both these models, so you can make sure you know the subtle differences between these two sedans, and get exactly the sedan you desire.

If you have thoughts of cruising the roads and highways in and around Laval, the West Island, Blainville and Montreal, and your heart is set on a luxury sedan like a used Cadillac CT4 or used Cadillac CT5, then the experienced team at Cadillac Laval can outline the features, benefits and differences of these two luxury sedan models that have been expertly designed for commuters and businesspeople alike.

Which one do I choose? A used Cadillac CT4 or CT5?

While both of these sleek luxury sedans would make even the choosiest driver happy, there are some subtle differences between the two models that are worth noting before you narrow down your choice.

According to the experts at Cadillac Canada, the main difference between the CT4 model and the CT5 model is the size, with the CT4 sedan being slightly more compact. Where you will notice this difference is mainly in the length, with a used 2020 CT4 being 6.6 inches shorter, as well as in the wheelbase, which is 6.7 inches shorter.

However, despite its more compact size, many drivers do prefer a compact sedan if they need to park in tighter locations – like a downtown Montreal parking garage – or want a handier car with a tighter turning radius.

So, given the slightly more compact stature of the Cadillac CT4, below we outline the more detailed technological and spec changes between these two models.

Used CT4 vs. CT5: the exterior

Cadillac is known for its sleek, smooth lines on its sedans, and this shows on both the used CT4 or CT5.

What you will notice on the pre-owned CT4’s exterior are LED headlamps, light signatures and taillamps, 17-inch wheels – likely with a bright silver finish – and a well-finished front fascia and bright accented grille.

On the used CT5, you’ll enjoy 19-inch 10-spoke premium painted alloy wheels with a pearl nickel finish, and in some used models, you may even find 19-inch low profile run flat tires, which came standard in the 2020 year.

Engine choices in used Cadillac CT4 vs. CT5 models

The Cadillac CT5 Powertrains

If you are looking at the slightly larger sedan – the used Cadillac CT5 – then you have the choice of four different models, with the Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport outfitted with the 2.0L Twin Scroll turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that provides 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.

Or, if you find a used V-Series – the fourth model – in the pre-owned CT5 Cadillac, this vehicle is a bit more powerful with the 3.0L Twin Turbo V6 engine that provides 360 horsepower and 450 lb ft of torque, for some true driving power.

The CT4 Luxury model was also outfitted with the 2.0L Twin Scroll Turbocharged engine that also came with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and an available all-wheel drive option.

If you are interested in a slightly more powerful engine in your used Cadillac CT4, then the Premium Luxury model has an available 2.7L Dual Volute Turbocharged engine, and this powerful engine was standard on the V-Series, giving drivers the thrill of 325 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque.

So, as you can see, if you are looking at both used Cadillac CT4s and CT5s, there is a huge array of different engine options, depending on the model you choose.

Interior of the pre-owned CT5 vs. CT4

It only goes to say, that because the used Cadillac CT5 is larger than the CT4 in terms of length and wheelbase, it also does provide a bit more room on the interior – with the CT5 giving passengers an additional 4 inches of leg room.

The model also is outfitted with a 10” diagonal multi-touch colour screen, voice recognition technology, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as three USB ports.

In the top end CT4 model, the V-Series, you will have easy access to the 8-inch diagonal multi-touch colour screen and voice recognition, two USB ports and connectivity with your smartphone.

The Certified Pre-Owned Cadillac Promise

Something to also keep in mind when you purchase a used vehicle from Cadillac Laval is that all used Cadillac CT4 and CT5 models are put through a rigorous inspection by our dealership team and technicians. Before they are sold, they have earned the “stamp” as a certified pre-owned Cadillac.

This certification should give you assurance that the used vehicle you are purchasing is an excellent value and has been thoroughly inspected inside and out.
